Please read these terms and conditions carefully before using our services. To use our services, you must fully accept these terms and conditions, and you agree to use our services in accordance with these terms and conditions.
Our terms and conditions are to protect your rights and guarantee your satisfaction with the service(s) we provide. It does not affect your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
These terms and conditions are a legal agreement between you, the ‘user’, and Lace and Dagger Nail Studio, for all stages of your interaction with our business: online and on location. Any references to Lace and Dagger Nail Studio refer to ‘L&D’ and vice versa.
Reasonable adjustments/disability information -
L&D is a home-based nail studio located on the second floor. Due to this, we are unable to accommodate wheelchair users and those unable to use stairs.
As L&D is a home-based nail studio, we do have cats, and we take the utmost care to keep the salon a pet-free area.
Parking -
L&D is located on a residential road, so parking is not guaranteed. When parking, be respectful of the residents, and do not cause any obstructions. Your vehicle should not block access to private entrances or hinder the flow of traffic, especially for emergency vehicles.
Children and babies -
For health and safety reasons, children and babies are not permitted in the studio as the environment involves dust and chemicals.
Durations -
The number of minutes quoted for each service is guidance only. The service may last longer or shorter, depending on factors including, but not limited to, the condition of your nails and any unexpected delays.
Booking an appointment -
When booking an appointment online or in the studio, we need your name, phone number and email address. Without these details, we will not be able to confirm your appointment. When you’ve booked an appointment online, you will receive confirmation via email with a date and time, as well as a reminder via text message 24 hours before your appointment time.
You must be over the age of 16 to book an appointment. Appointments made for those under the age of 16 will be cancelled and non-refundable.
When you book an appointment, it is your responsibility to ensure the accuracy prior to confirmation. L&D are not responsible for reservation errors, including, but not limited to, dates/times and services booked. Deposits/booking fee -
While we do not currently request a deposit to book an appointment, we do reserve the right to change this at any time. We reserve the right to ask for a booking fee for any booking made online, over the phone or in our studio for future dates. We reserve the right to determine the size of these fees on a case-by-case basis entirely at our own discretion. The size of the fee can be anywhere up to 100% of the sales value of the service booked. Booking fees are non-refundable. If you change your appointment up to 24 hours before the start time of your appointment, we will move your deposit to your new time. If you change your appointment up to or after 24 hours before the start
time of your appointment, we reserve the right to cancel your appointment and keep your fee. If you cancel your booking within 24 hours, you will lose your booking fee/deposit.
Confirmation -
When booking your appointment, you will receive an email confirmation. If you do not receive an email, please contact us at lace.and.dagger.studio@gmail.comyou will also receive a confirmation email. L&D is not responsible if you think you have booked an appointment but have not received a confirmation email. If this happens, we will do our best to accommodate you as best we can, but you may have to revisit at another time and/or date.
Changes -
You can change your appointment free of charge up to 24 hours before your appointment starts. If you have been charged a deposit, a change to your appointment more than 24 hours in advance of your appointment will result in your deposit being transferred to your new appointment reservation.
If you change your appointment less than 24 hours before your appointment starts, we reserve the right to either ask you for a fee or cancel your appointment entirely. You may also be asked for a non-refundable fee on future bookings. If you have paid a fee and change your appointment less than 24 hours before the start time of your appointment, we reserve the right to cancel your appointment and keep your fee.
Cancellations -
You must cancel your appointment more than 24 hours before the start of your appointment time.
If you have been charged a booking fee, you can cancel your appointment free of charge up to 24 hours before the start time of your appointment. If you cancel within 24 hours before the start time of your appointment, you could be charged up to 100% of your appointment fee. When a fee has not been paid ahead of the appointment, a payment link will be sent to you by phone. If you have been charged a fee, a cancellation of your appointment within 24 hours of the start time of your appointment will result in the loss of your deposit.
If you cancel your appointment less than 24 hours in advance of your appointment, you will lose your booking fee, and you may then be asked for a non-refundable fee on future bookings.
If, for any reason, Lace and Dagger Nail Studio needs to make changes to your booked service - changes including, but not limited to, changing the date/time of your reservation or changing to a similar service - you have the option to reject the proposed change(s). We will then process a refund of your deposit. This will take up to 10 working days to process your payment method.
If, for any reason, L&D cancels your service at any time before your service is due to start, we will process a refund of your deposit. This will take up to 10 working days to process your payment method.
No shows and Late arrivals -
If you do not turn up to your appointment, we reserve the right to charge you 100% of your appointment and request a 50% non-refundable booking fee for future bookings.
If you arrive late for your appointment, we reserve the right to take any of the following actions:
• We will perform the service as booked in the late start time.
• We will perform a shorter version of the booked service if we have appointments booked back-to-back. We will still charge the full booked price.
• We will perform a similar, shorter service if we have appointments booked back-to-back. You will then be charged the new price of the service provided.
• We will perform no service, charge 100% of the booked service, and we reserve the right to charge you a non-refundable deposit on future bookings.
In the case of late arrivals, we will decide what action to take from the above list entirely at our own discretion taking into account all of the information we have including, but not limited to, duration of lateness, reason for lateness, how often instances of lateness have occurred, whether we have appointments booked back-to-back, whether a similar shorter service exists, whether we were given warning from the customer, etc. Exceeding the 10-minute mark will result in cancellation and a 100% payment of the original service booked.
Accuracy of medical information-
Accuracy of the medical information you provide to L&D is entirely your responsibility. If any details change, it is your responsibility to update L&D with the new details. If no new details are voluntarily offered to us at future services, we will assume that your medical information is unchanged from your original state of health.
Medical conditions can be aggravated by the services that we offer. We strongly encourage our clients to be open and transparent with their medical information so we can advise on alternative services, not restricted to L&D, if required.
Decline of appointments-
We reserve the right to reject your appointments entirely at our own discretion. Reasons for rejecting your appointments include, but are not limited to, previous instance(s) of no shows, repeated instances of lateness, condition of your natural nails, abusive behavior or crossing boundaries towards studio customers and staff.
Aftercare -
We offer our clients appropriate aftercare advice relevant to their service in the studio, in our follow-up messages, our aftercare cards, and during their service. If you are unsure of anything, you can contact us at lace.and.dagger.studio@gmail.com
Modifications and extra time -
We may charge you extra time by the minute for any modifications you request to your service once the service has commenced, and the modifications affect part of the service already performed. Modifications include:
• Colour changes during a service after the chosen colour has been applied (and cured).
• Nail art removal after application because you do not like it
We may, from time to time, assist you with advice and suggestions, but the decisions you make are wholly your final decision. Extra time will be charged at a rate of £1 per minute.
We will endeavour to accommodate all modification requests, but modification requests may be denied if we are booked back-to-back and the time required for the modification affects the service of the next customer. In this scenario, we will complete the service as booked, and you will be charged the booked price.
Complaints, fixes and repairs -
You are entitled to complain about your service, service standard or anything else affecting your experience to the studio owner either by email at lace.and.dagger.studio@gmail.comphone number on +44 7544 876957.
We will repair any damage to gel or acrylic services for free within 7 days of your appointment. We will, however, not repair damage for free if the damage has been caused by activities that have not followed our aftercare advice. Our aftercare advice will be discussed in the studio, and we also give out aftercare advice cards at the end of appointments upon request. We reserve the right to use our own discretion to decide whether the damage was caused by any activities that are likely to cause nail damage and are contrary to our aftercare advice. In this situation, we will charge a rate of £5 per nail. Your date and time will need to be booked via email, phone, or in person at the studio, and a price will be given for the repair.
If you are unhappy with your colour or nail art, this is not covered as a free repair job. Please be advised that you can mention this during your service, but this may be charged at our standard ‘extra-time’ rate if mentioned after curing.
Fixes need to be booked in, and there is no guarantee that we will be able to accommodate a fix for you if you complain in the studio. In this scenario, we will accommodate you at the next convenient time for you. You are advised to book the time via email, phone or social media to guarantee your repair time.
If you are complaining about the general standard of your service, you are welcome to attach photos to an email to provide clear evidence for our management. We may ask for more information to help us finalise a response to your complaint. Once we receive this information, our responses will include, but are not limited to, an offer of a new service with no refund and no new service. The response you receive will be decided on a case-by-case basis, considering all the information provided by you, and will be entirely at our discretion.
Changes of terms and conditions -
We may modify these Terms and Conditions, and such modifications shall be effective immediately upon posting of the modified terms. Your continued use of the service constitutes your agreement to be bound by any such changes.
Appointments -
• A client consultation form will need to be completed before any treatment is started.
• It is the customer’s responsibility to inform L&D of any changes to the details held on file for them.
• We will not infill any treatments completed by any other party. These will need to be removed completely before any other treatment commences.
• Nail designs/treatments will need to be discussed ahead of your appointment.
• No walk-in appointments.
• Customer is to come alone unless agreed with us before your appointment. This is purely for safety reasons, as we are a home-based studio, and we do not have a waiting area.
• L&D reserves the right to cancel any appointment.
• L&D reserves the right to decline treatment for any reason to any person.
• No nail treatment will be given to any nail with a current fungal/bacterial infection. Treatment can only commence when the infection has been fully treated.
• L&D cannot be held responsible for any nail infections. We have a very high standard of cleanliness and maintain cleaning records.
• We reserve the right to request a deposit to secure your booking.
• Deposits are non-refundable.
• If you cancel your appointment 24 hours or more before your appointment, then your deposit can be transferred to another date and time of your choosing.
• If you cancel less than 24 hours before the start of your appointment, you will be charged up to 100% of the cost of the service.
• No shows will be charged up to 100% of the cost of service.
• A grace period of 10 minutes after the start time of your appointment will be given; after that time has passed, you will be classed as a ‘no show’ and will be charged up to 100% of the price of the service booked. You may also be required to place a non-refundable deposit for future bookings.
• Appointments may be longer or shorter than anticipated, so please bear this in mind.
• Any modifications that may affect any treatment already completed will be charged as ‘extra-time’ at £1 per minute.
• If chipping or lifting occurs within the first 7 days after your service and we determine this is not a result of not following aftercare advice, this will be repaired free of charge. If we determine the
Damage to your nails is a result of actions which are expected to damage your nails, so we charge a repair at £5 per nail.
• We will ask you throughout your appointment if you are happy with your nails. Please take this opportunity to raise any issues or concerns.
• We do not issue refunds, so please don’t hesitate to tell us of any issues during your appointment, as refunds will not be offered once you leave the property.
Personal Data -
All information shared with L&D is confidential, and your data will not be shared with any third parties. Your details are collected for legal and insurance purposes, and we will keep your information on file for a minimum of 7 years by law.
Your email address will be used to keep you updated with our latest news and offers, as well as to send you confirmation of your appointment booking. If you do not wish to receive marketing emails, please let us know.
In certain cases, we may need to see photographic ID for age-related checks.
We will never collect personal information that we do not need.
Age restriction -
L&D will not perform any treatments on those under the age of 16. All under 18’s will need a permission note signed by a parent or guardian with their contact information. Photographic ID may be required if we believe the customer to be not of the age they have stated.
Pricing and payments -
• Prices are nonnegotiable.
• Payment methods that are accepted are cash or bank transfer.
• Prices are subject to change at any time.
• We reserve the right to request a deposit to secure your booking.
• Deposits are non-refundable.
• Discounts are given at the owner’s discretion.
Additional -
• L&D reserve the right to change our terms and conditions at our discretion at any time without prior notice to you or anyone else.
• We do not tolerate any form of abusive behaviour toward any staff or customer. If your behaviour is deemed to be threatening or offensive in any way, then you will be asked to leave the premises, reported to the police (if necessary), and you will no longer be welcome at Lace and Dagger Nail Studio.
• Due to being a home-based studio, we do have 2 cats within the property.
• Access to the studio is upstairs, and we do not have wheelchair access, but mobile visits may be available upon request.
Photographs -
Photographs may be taken before and/or after your service. These may be used for marketing purposes, competition entries and for use across social media platforms. Any photographs may consist of hands or feet and will not include photos of faces. If you do not wish for us to take photographs or use them in such a way, then please inform us.
You will be asked to sign a form to confirm that you are happy with this at your first consultation.
Loyalty card terms and conditions:
Stamps -
You must give L&D your loyalty card when paying for a qualifying service to claim a loyalty stamp. There is no guarantee we will give you a stamp later if you fail to give us your loyalty card when completing your purchase.
Redemption -
To claim a 10% discount, you must acquire 4 loyalty stamps. You can claim the loyalty discount for the service that gives you your 4th stamp. We will subtract 10% from the purchase price for the qualifying service. To claim a 40% discount, you must acquire 8 loyalty stamps. You can claim the loyalty discount for the service that gives you your 8th stamp. We will subtract 40% from the purchase price for the qualifying service.
Limitations -
Collect a stamp for each individual service that costs £20 or more. A stamp can’t be given when you’re claiming any other promotional offer or discount. Discounts have no cash value and are not transferable.
Risk of loss -
L&D will not accept liability if a loyalty card is lost, stolen, destroyed or used without your permission.
Change of terms -
L&D reserves the right to change these loyalty and referral card terms and conditions from time to time at its discretion and without prior notice to you. L&D also reserves the right to withdraw loyalty cards at any time and for any reason.
Referral scheme terms and conditions:
Eligibility of referee -
The referred individual must be a new customer and not already in the company’s database, and they must be over the age of 16 years old.
Referral process -
Referrals must be made by using the referral side of your discount/referral card. A discount of 10% will be applied to the service price of the new customer’s first appointment, and the referrers will receive a 10% discount on the service price of their next appointment.
Limitations -
Referrers cannot refer themselves or past customers. There may be a maximum number of referrals allowed within a certain timeframe, and this can be made at our own discretion.
Rewards have no cash value and are not transferable.
Email offers terms and conditions:
Special Offers -
For as long as you remain signed up to L&D email marketing, you will be eligible to receive special offers for products and services in Lace and Dagger Studio. We reserve the right to determine these offers and change them at any time.
Change of terms -
We reserve the right to change all benefits of email promotions at our own discretion and without prior notice to you. We reserve the right to discontinue any part of our email promotions at our own discretion.
